Why did the Lottery change the Megabucks game?
Megabucks is changing because players have been asking for a better chance to win, bigger prizes and larger jackpots. We have listened to their request and created a game that provides them with exactly what they asked for.
Can I still play the old $1 Megabucks game?

No, the old $1 Megabucks game will no longer be available.
Why did you increase the price from $1 to $2?

The $2 price allows us to pay out more prizes, bigger prizes and larger jackpots. Without the $2 price, these changes would not be possible.
When will the drawings be held?

Megabucks Plus will be drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays just like the old Megabucks game.
What other changes have been made?

  • The starting jackpots are now $1,000,000 instead of $500,000.
  • The overall odds of winning a prize will be better at 1 in 5.9 compared to the old game which were 1 in 21.
  • The second prize has been increased from $10,000 to $30,000.
  • The average Jackpots have been increased from $2.5 million to $3.3 million.
  • The odds of winning a jackpot will be better at 1 in 4.4 million compared to 1 in 5.2 million.
Will I still be able to purchase a subscription for the new Megabucks Plus game?
Yes, subscriptions are available for the new Megabucks Plus game for 26 draws ($52), 52 draws ($104), and 104 draws ($208).
